Neumark (NEU) isn’t just another cryptocurrency. It’s a ghost. A relic from the 2017 ICO boom that promised to change how companies raise money - but ended up becoming one of the most obvious examples of a crypto project that died quietly, with no fanfare, no refunds, and no future.
What Neumark (NEU) Was Supposed to Be
Neumark was the native token of Neufund, a platform launched in 2017 with a bold idea: let startups issue real equity as blockchain tokens, legally and transparently. Think of it like crowdfunding, but instead of getting a T-shirt or early access, you’d own a share of the company - and Neumark was the key to accessing that. It wasn’t meant to be a speculative coin like Bitcoin or Dogecoin. Neufund positioned NEU as a utility token tied to governance and revenue sharing. Investors who bought NEU during the ICO were told they’d get a cut of platform fees, voting rights on project listings, and a stake in the platform’s growth. The pitch sounded like a win-win: blockchain transparency meets traditional equity. The ICO ran from November to December 2017. Over 63 million NEU tokens were created. At the time, the price was $0.36 per token. People paid in ETH. Some even paid $0.0015 ETH - a tiny amount back then, but now worth less than a penny. What Happened to Neumark After the ICO?
Right after the ICO, things looked promising. Neufund had real legal backing, worked with European regulators, and even partnered with startups in Berlin. The platform itself had real technology. But the NEU token? It never did what it promised. By 2019, users started asking: Where’s my revenue share? How do I vote? Why can’t I sell my tokens? The answers were silence. The token never gained liquidity. It wasn’t listed on Coinbase, Binance, or Kraken. Only six tiny exchanges ever traded it - and even those stopped updating prices. By 2024, CoinMarketCap showed zero 24-hour trading volume. Zero. Not $100. Not $10. $0. The price? It’s down 99.98% from its all-time high of $2.60. Today, it’s worth around $0.004. That’s 98.5% below its ICO price. But here’s the kicker: even that price is meaningless. No one’s buying. No one’s selling. The market doesn’t exist.Who Holds Neumark? And Why Can’t They Sell?
About 68% of all NEU tokens are locked in just three wallets. One of them holds over 42 million tokens - more than two-thirds of the entire supply. That’s not decentralization. That’s control. Most holders are people who bought during the ICO. They’re stuck. You can’t sell NEU on any major exchange. To trade it, you need to use a decentralized exchange (DEX) like Uniswap - but even there, there’s no one to buy from. Liquidity pools are empty. Transactions fail because the old smart contract doesn’t work with modern Ethereum gas rules. Etherscan shows 92% of NEU transfer attempts fail. You’d need to manually adjust gas settings, something even experienced crypto users struggle with. And Neufund never updated their guides. Their documentation is frozen in 2018. The last GitHub commit was in 2022. Their Twitter hasn’t posted since April 2023. Their Discord server? Deleted. Telegram? Silent since January 2023.
Why Did Neumark Fail?
Neumark didn’t fail because of bad tech. Neufund’s legal framework was ahead of its time. They were one of the first to build SEC- and EU-compliant tokenized equity. That’s impressive. But they made a fatal mistake: they built a platform around a token that had no real use case. Revenue sharing? Never implemented. Voting? Never activated. Governance? A theoretical idea on a whitepaper. Experts call NEU a “zombie token.” Blockchain researcher Maria Konte from Georgia Tech wrote in a 2022 paper: “NEU exemplifies the security token graveyard phenomenon - robust legal frameworks paired with non-functional token economics.” Deloitte’s 2023 report called it “legally pioneering but economically nonviable.” Crypto analyst Benjamin Radclyffe said in March 2024: “NEU is a case study in complete market abandonment.” Even Neufund admitted it. Their own 2021 transparency report said: “NEU currently lacks active utility.” They promised to fix it with an “Identity Verification Protocol” - but that project vanished. No update. No release. Is Neumark Worth Anything Today?
No. Not as an investment. Not as a tool. Not even as a collectible. Some websites still show fake prices. Coinlore predicts NEU could hit $1.79 by 2025. That’s pure fantasy. With zero trading volume, no liquidity, and no active development, those numbers are AI-generated noise. Chainalysis’s June 2024 report labeled NEU as the #7 “zombie token” - meaning 99.99% of holders have given up. Reddit threads are full of people asking: “Is this dead?” “Can I get my money back?” “Why did they take my ETH and disappear?” One user wrote: “Paid 0.0015 ETH during ICO - now zero value after 6 years.” That’s the story of NEU.
What About Neufund Today?
Neufund didn’t disappear. They just moved on. In May 2024, they quietly announced they were migrating to a “new tokenization infrastructure.” No mention of NEU. No apology. No roadmap for old holders. They’re now focused on direct tokenization - letting companies issue equity tokens without needing a separate utility token like NEU. That’s smarter. That’s sustainable. But for the people who bought NEU? They’re left behind. CoinMarketCap delisted NEU in April 2024 because it had zero volume for over 180 days. That’s the official death certificate.Should You Buy Neumark (NEU) Now?
Absolutely not. There is no scenario where buying NEU makes sense. Even if the price goes up tomorrow - which it won’t - you still can’t sell it. You can’t use it. You can’t earn from it. You’re just holding digital trash. The token has no utility. No liquidity. No team activity. No community. No future. If you see someone selling NEU, they’re either scamming you or they don’t understand what they’re holding. Don’t fall for it.What Can You Learn From Neumark?
NEU is a cautionary tale - not about blockchain, but about hype. Too many crypto projects in 2017 sold investors on a vision while ignoring the basics: utility, liquidity, and transparency. Neufund had the legal side right. But they forgot the most important part: if your token doesn’t do something real, no one will care. If you’re looking at any crypto project today, ask these questions:- Is the token actually used - or just a placeholder?
- Is there real trading volume, or just fake numbers?
- Are the team’s GitHub, Twitter, and Discord active?
- Have they delivered on their promises - or just kept making them?
Is Neumark (NEU) still being developed?
No. Neufund stopped all development on the NEU token by 2022. Their last GitHub commit was in July 2022, their Twitter hasn’t posted since April 2023, and their official blog confirmed in May 2024 that they’ve moved to a new infrastructure with no mention of NEU. The token is considered legacy technology.
Can I sell my Neumark (NEU) tokens?
Technically yes, but practically no. NEU is only traded on six illiquid decentralized exchanges, with zero 24-hour volume. Most attempts to transfer NEU fail due to outdated smart contract code incompatible with modern Ethereum gas rules. Even if you manage to send it, there’s almost no one buying. Selling NEU is nearly impossible.
What was the original purpose of NEU?
Neumark was designed as a utility token for Neufund’s equity tokenization platform. Holders were promised revenue sharing from platform fees, voting rights on listed projects, and governance power. None of these features were ever activated. The token’s intended utility remains unimplemented.
Why is NEU worth so little today?
NEU’s value collapsed because it has no real use, no liquidity, and no demand. The ICO price was $0.36. Today it’s worth about $0.004 - a 98.5% drop. With zero trading volume, no exchange listings, and no team activity, the market has completely abandoned it.
Is Neufund still operating?
Yes, but not as it was. Neufund still operates as a legal equity tokenization platform, but they’ve moved on from the NEU token. Since 2024, they’ve focused on direct tokenization without requiring a separate utility token. NEU is no longer part of their strategy.
Are there any alternatives to Neumark for tokenized equity?
Yes. Platforms like Polymath, ADDX, and Swarm Markets now offer compliant tokenized equity without relying on a speculative utility token. These platforms have active trading, real liquidity, and ongoing development - unlike NEU, which is effectively dead.

November 1, 2025 AT 08:43 AMNEU isn’t just dead - it’s a fossilized corpse with a blockchain tattoo. Zero volume? No liquidity? A GitHub that hasn’t been touched since 2022? This isn’t a crypto project. It’s a graveyard exhibit. And people still think they can ‘flip’ it? Bro. 🤡

November 1, 2025 AT 11:55 AMLet me guess - someone bought NEU during the ICO thinking they were getting ‘equity.’ Cute. You didn’t buy equity. You bought a promise written in vaporware and signed with a blockchain signature that didn’t even work. The only thing ‘tokenized’ here was your stupidity.

November 3, 2025 AT 04:15 AMWow. Just... wow. 😔 I remember when I bought NEU for 0.0015 ETH. I thought I was being smart. Now I’m just holding digital dust. I miss the 2017 dream. Back then, we believed in tech. Now? We just believe in scams. 💔

November 3, 2025 AT 18:02 PMHey, I know it’s painful to hold NEU, but please don’t give up hope! I’ve been holding a bunch of dead tokens since 2018 - like ZZZ and QQQ - and guess what? One day, someone might wake up and revive them! Maybe Neufund will come back with a surprise airdrop? Or a community vote? Anything’s possible if you believe! 💪✨
